Sci-Tek Meets China
Sci-Tek was invited by Citizen Diplomacy International (CDI) to be part of a two-person panel to meet with a delegation of six geologists from the Zhejiang Province of (eastern) China. The meeting was held at the University of Pennsylvania on September 21, 2016. University of Pennsylvania Professor of City and Regional Planning, Dr. John Keene and Sci-Tek Senior Geologist, David Wilcots, P.G. (photo middle) facilitated a roundtable discussion with the delegation which included the following Provincial officials: 1. Mr. Yan Zongbao, Deputy Director, Geological Exploration Bureau of Zhejiang Province, China 2. Mr. Wang Guowu, Section Chief, Geological Exploration Bureau of Zhejiang Province 3. Mr. Chen Bin, Senior Economist, Geological Exploration Bureau of Zhejiang Province 4. Mr. Zhang Fan, Senior Engineer, The First Geological Unit of Zhejiang Province 5. Mr. He Mengkui Professor of Engineering, Third Geological Unit of Zhejiang Province 6. Mr. Zhang Jun, Captain, The Ninth Geological Unit of Zhejiang Province This delegation was on a four-city, U. S. State Department tour of the United States and was facilitated by CDI. Through a translator, the topics that were discussed included; land development, environmental regulatory standards, geologic publications, natural resources, mining, coal, natural gas, urban environmental impacts, contaminants, bedrock types, Pennsylvania?s geology and Zhejiang Province geology.
